The Connecticut Greenhouse Growers Association represents the interests of Connecticut's greenhouse growers and family farmers with greenhouse infrastructure. Protecting the economic engine of the Connecitcut Greenhouse Industry is our highest priority. We constantly seek feedback from our membership and bring their concerns to federal and state authorities.
According to the latest USDA Census of Northeast Agriculture, the Greenhouse Industry is the fastest growing sector of agriculture in Connecticut. The value of agriculture to Connecticut's economy was estimated at $3.5 billion according the University of Connecticut. Connecticut Greenhouse growers contribute millions of dollars to the state's economy through payroll, purchase of goods and services, and support of ancillary businesses. There is currently 10.5 million square feet of greenhouse space in Connecticut that is utilized to cultivate climate-controlled food crops, bedding plants, seasonal plants, vegetable and herb plants.
